Advantages of PVPP
Prevention of Oxidative Browning: By removing easily oxidizable polyphenols, PVPP helps prevent oxidative browning and preserves the color and freshness of the beverage over time.
Increased Shelf Life: Through haze reduction and oxidation prevention, PVPP treatment extends the shelf life of the final product, allowing for longer storage and transport.
Selectivity: PVPP selectively binds to undesirable polyphenols while minimizing the impact on other beneficial components, including desirable aromas and foam-positive proteins in beer.
Safety and Reliability: PVPP is insoluble and can be completely removed through filtration, ensuring no residues remain in the final product. It is also authorized for use as a food additive.

White or yellowish powder, no special odor, insoluble in water, acid, alkali and other common organic solvents. However, it has a strong expansion capacity in water and does not produce gel accumulations, and can be complexed with peptides, hydroxyl acids and other low molecular quantization and substances. Crosslinked POvidone is the disintegrating agent of choice for high-grade tablet drugs, especially suitable for instant, chewable tablet formulations.
How To Use Pvpp
PVPP can be added to the must before or during fermentation, or to the wine at any stage of the process, as long as it is before the last filtration.It can be used together with the most common clarifiers, without interfering with their action.
Steep PVPP in water at a ratio of 1:10, allow to stand for 2-3 hours before adding to the mass during pumping over.
Use any other clarifiers within half an hour after adding PVPP.
Application of PVPP Clarifier and stabilizer
In the beverage industry
PVP is used as a clarifying agent, especially in the production of wine and beer. PVP can effectively remove suspended particles, proteins and polyphenols, reduce turbidity, and thus improve the transparency and stability of the beverage. This clarifying action not only improves the appearance of the drink, but also enhances its taste, making the final product clearer and more palatable.
Other applications
PVPP belongs to insoluble cross polymer, it has special netty capability structure and also repair the application limitation of PVP excellent solubility. It is not soluble in acid, alkali and common organic solvent, PVP is opposite. PVPP has good physiological security, water absorption, insolubility and complexation capabilities. It can be widely used in pharmaceutical, food, personal care, feed field, etc.
In the biological pharmaceutical field
PVPP has good physiologic inertia and biological compatibility characteristics. It can be used as disintegration agent, medicine slow-releasing carrier and hemodialysis film, etc. After PVPP absorb water and it makes tablet(capsule) bear very high pressure, then disintegrate small incalculable grain, it improved biological availability of body.
In personal care industry
PVPP can be used as moisture-preserving agent of top grade cosmetics, it can moisten the skin, maintain the aroma, ease pain and decrease pungency. In the toothpaste PVPP can clear the mouth, diminish inflammation.
