Description
Crospovidone, a disintegrant, is influenced by pressure, which controls tablet disintegration. Low pressure leads to higher porosity, allowing water to penetrate quickly. High pressure results in high porosity and large pore sizes, while moderate pressure can result in good disintegration. Adding disintegrants can be internal, external, or combined. External disintegrants break tablets into coarse particles, while internal disintegrants break coarse particles into finer ones, promoting even dispersion and drug dissolution. Combined internal-external disintegrants offer the advantages of both methods, making tablet disintegration more effective.
