Copovidone is water-soluble polymer resin, white powder, odorless and tasteless, and easily absorbs moisture. It is soluble in water, ethanol and anhydrous alcohols, and has good adhesion, hygroscopicity, film-forming properties and surface activity. Copovidone is a linear copolymer of N-vinylpyrrolidone (NVP) and vinyl acetate (VA), referred to as PVP/VA.
Copovidone has a wide range of applications in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and other industrial fields due to its unique physical and chemical properties. In the pharmaceutical field, it is often used as a binder for tablets, which can improve the compressibility of granules and is suitable for wet, dry granulation or direct compression processes. In addition, copovidone can also be used as a film coating material to improve the strength and flexibility of the film, and as a solubilizer in solid dispersion processes.
