Description
Vinylpyrrolidone homopolymers are inferior to VP VA copolymers, with the best water-soluble adhesives being VP VA 6 and VP VA 7. As vinylpyrrolidone fraction increases, copolymer adhesivity improves. VP VA 64 and VP VA 73 copolymers have twice the adherence to leaf-like surfaces as homopolymers. VP VA 64 is a popular polymer in seed treatments due to its adhesivity, air and water permeability, and complexing abilities. It has been shown to quadruple rhizobia adhesion to seeds and increase rhizobia bacteria viability on legume seeds due to its complexing ability.
